Uploading phone numbers

Uploading an Excel Spreadsheet

You can upload the data in an Excel spreadsheet directly into your Address Book. There is no need to save the data in a text format first.

This is a quick and easy way of getting numbers into your Address Book.

The first column must contain the mobile phone numbers.

If you have more than one column in your Excel spreadsheet then the next 3 columns can contain (in this order)

  • A group name
  • The person's given name
  • The person's family name

Preparing a file for upload

You can upload phone numbers from a text file on your computer - the file must contain one phone number per line. You can generate the file in MS Word, Excel or Notepad but you must save the numbers into a text file - you cannot upload a Word or Excel file. If you are unsure how to save from Word or Excel into a text file then we strongly suggest that you use Notepad to edit your phone numbers.
 
Word You can safely edit a list of numbers in Word but you must save the list into a Text file. From Word choose "Save As" and then choose the "Save as type" as "Text only" i.e. .txt
 
Notepad Notepad is safe for editing lists since it has few options.
 
Macintosh Both SimpleEdit and TextEdit are safe for editing lists.

Text File Format

This sample file is suitable for upload into an Address Book. The group, given and family names are optional and each line can contain 1,2, 3 or 4 fields. Quotation marks around fields are also optional unless the field contains a comma.

Access your Address Book

To access your Address Book you need to Login.

Once logged in, touch "My Account" in the main navigation bar and a second navigation bar will appear with an "Address Book" option.
